Reactive dyeing is one of the dyeing methods for our company’s ramie yarn. For understanding, reactive dyeing refers to the process of dyeing yarns with reactive dyes. With this tech, reactive dyeing imparts ramie yarn with vivid colors, excellent wash and light fastness, and uniform dye penetration.

Pros: Colors are very bright and resist washing well due to strong covalent bonds. Many color choices exist, and the process is simple and low-cost. It works better for ramie than some dyes (e.g., direct dyes), giving even shades for light/medium colors.

Cons: High Tech Difficulty. Uneven dyeing may occur without mature tech.

Ideal environment: Cool (20-25°C), dry (relative humidity 50-70%), and well-ventilated. Avoid direct sunlight and ultraviolet rays to prevent fading, aging or mold.

Breathable packaging: Use cotton bags, canvas bags, mesh bags or perforated plastic containers to ensure air circulation and prevent dust and moisture. Avoid long-term sealed storage. The original packaging (paper box or breathable design) can still be used.

Insect and moth prevention: Place cedar wood blocks or lavender sachets and regularly check the condition of the yarn.

Storage method: Lay the yarn flat, avoiding folding, hanging or excessive stacking to prevent creases, fiber breakage or pressure damage.
